About
Noah Kellman is a pianist, educator, composer, and author based in New York City. With over 200k subscribers between YouTube and Instagram, he is perhaps best known for his focus on simplifying modern improvisational music concepts into digestible methodology and demonstrating these techniques through his own performances. After completing The Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program, where he had the great opportunity to work with Dave Brubeck himself along with many other guest artists (Karriem Riggins, Larry Grenadier, Christian McBride, Nicholas Payton, Taylor Eigsti, and others), he then went on to graduate from New York University with a Master’s Degree in Scoring For Film & Multimedia. Soon after, he authored The Game Music Handbook (2020), released internationally with Oxford University Press.
As a sideman, Noah has played keyboard with and arranged/orchestrated music for songwriter/producer Elliot Moss. He also plays in Chad LB’s electric project Sonic Magic. He has also played with up-and-coming artists such as John Splitoff and Michael Blume. A lover of all narrative music, Noah continues to create cinematic soundscapes that intersect the acoustic and electronic worlds. His full debut solo album is expected to be released in 2022.

What Others Are Saying
"Working one on one has been truly engaging and encouraging. Having personally floundered repeatedly in the compositional arena Noah quickly identified a course of action which already has resulted in substantial improvement in just a few weeks. His ability to listen, offer advice, identify intent and create a unique personal approach fosters a relationship of trust and confidence. Those willing to put in the work will reap huge personal gains. His background is quite impressive but more so is his desire to share his knowledge and expertise in a mentorial fashion. His self effacing personality is disarming and his breadth of knowledge is a well of content to be applied to any individual situation.
Lastly, I believe if you follow Noah's process, let him engage in your desired direction you will develop a relationship that results in significant gains in your musical development."
Noah Kellman has unusual range and depth for a young pianist and piano teacher. I first saw his instruction on YouTube where he was demonstrating techniques from pianists ranging from Art Tatum to McCoy Tyner to Robert Glasper. His performance was strong and his explanations were patient and clear.
Based on those viewings I reached out to Noah for private video lessons. I found he has the same personality and style 1:1 that he does in his videos. In my lessons we broke down critical concepts and discussed how I could apply them to my playing. I was so pleased with the lessons that I have now joined one of Noah's online classes for continuing instruction. I highly recommend Noah for anyone who is learning jazz piano and wants to take some serious steps forward with their playing.
Noah is hands down the best. He will always give you more than you need so that you really get a concept under your fingers. Not only that but he actually teaches you how to work it into your playing, something no other course has done.
The best thing is, if you’re stuck or would like some feedback then just reach out. He’ll give you honest useful feedback. He has done more for my playing in months than anyone has done in years. Thank you Noah 🤗
Noah is always supportive, though he will not do the work for you — you will need to put in the time and maintain a good work ethic to see results. But his guidance and wisdom truly saved me years of trial-and-error!
I started with almost no following on social media, and a website that wasn't making any sales. At the time of this review, I now have 5000 engaged followers on Instagram, and nearly 200 students enrolled in my intro course. Thank you Noah for helping me achieve my goals, and make my dreams for We ArtPlay into reality!!!
