CNY Jazz is having another reunion/Jam session at UNO Chicago Grill in Fayetteville this Saturday night at 5pm! Come hang, get some food and drinks, and bring your instrument! Families are welcome and encouraged to come.
The way it works: You show up with your instrument, eat and play (there will be keyboard, bass and drums there). Your family can grab a table and order some food and up to 20% of their bill will go to the Alumni Association budget so that we can continue hosting great events and presenting alumni with opportunities in the future.
Make sure to grab a coupon on your way in to make sure the 20% goes to our organization. (You can print one too- check out the link I posted below)

This weekend, I had a great time performing with Kate Davis (http://kavedavismusic.com) in Fort Myers, Florida at the Sidney and Berne Art Center (http://www.sbdac.com/), an incredible venue that is leading the charge in bringing the arts to Fort Myers. CEO Jim Griffith has done an incredible job and continues to bring wonderful art of all sorts to the area. We also had the pleasure of meeting visual artist London Amara, who was displaying her work at the event. Check out her artwork here: http://www.londonamara.com/ My favorite part of all was meeting Berne Davis herself, an incredible 99-year-old woman with a deep appreciation for the arts.
Had a lovely time playing the piano today in the lobby of the Purchase College Performing Arts Center. Playing piano in Westchester has generally been a really nice experience because there are so many people who appreciate music and art in general. Today was the last of a series of performances at the PAC called the DeClassified series. The series consisted of a variety of great classical music meant to challenge the listeners and was put together in conjunction with Carnegie Hall. Looking forward to more gigs in the area!
On another note, here is the most recent video from my blog, JazzPianoConcepts.com:
Reblogged from Jazz Piano Concepts:
A reader recently emailed me to ask a very good question about how to incorporate upper extensions into his voicings. This is a simple way of creating your own voicings to use in different situations that call for upper extensions.
